Meet Hemant Harwani - Associate Consultant – Data and Analytics (TekLink)

Hemant Harwani joined the Data and Analytics (TekLink) team in February 2023. As an Associate Consultant working with the Anaplan team, he helps clients with modelling and structuring financial planning to create financial/management reports that help them take precise decisions for the future.

1. What are you currently working on?

Currently I am working on an enhancement to the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Anaplan model for a major multinational food manufacturing company. We help them consolidate their balance sheet and forecast future finance numbers so that they can plan their targets accordingly. We also help them maintain all the data in one place for easy referencing.

2. How do you maintain strong work relationships in a hybrid environment?

The hybrid model provides an opportunity to work together for at least two to three days a week. Moreover, my team connects once every two months for a weekend lunch. And whenever we meet in office, we take breaks together, which helps us strengthen our bond. We also plan knowledge sessions whenever we get a chance to increase domain knowledge and to discuss latest innovations in Anaplan and the finance industry.

3. What do you like most about working with your team?

The freedom to think, innovate, and experiment with the guarantee of someone having your back is the best thing working with my team. Not everything is about work with us. We like to engage in different activities. And everyone in the team believes in this approach.

4. What have been your top three learnings in your role?

1. Think for solutions and you will find one for anything.
2. Keeping an eye for detail is always good.
3. The team can help you achieve great results.

5. What are some skills you’d like to pick up in the next year or two?

I would like to become more data-driven and develop a deeper analytical approach and learn as many SAAS tools as possible to broaden my portfolio. I would also like to learn to manage a team and help them in their learning and growth.

6. What is your pro tip for people just starting out?

Learn whatever you can get your hands on. It will only help you build yourself. Anything learned is never a waste of time or energy. In this fast-changing world, we need to have a diverse approach to the industry if we want to grow. Finally, face everything with a smile.

Discover what it’s like to be a champion of innovation.
