HGS Work@Home Stories: Milos

Milos is a technical advisor at HGS UK. He shares with us his experience of working from home, since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

HGS: What do you like the most about working from home and carrying out your role?

Milos: Due to fewer interruptions and background noise, I am more focused at home than when I was in in office. It also helps that I save about two extra hours everyday because of no commute, and I get to start work on time. I feel like I have more time for other pursuits, and there is no worry about rushing to get off calls. So this way, I am able to focus and go beyond what is expected to make the customer journey more pleasant.

HGS: Tell us about one impactful moment whilst working from home that you have experienced recently.

Milos: Our account on one occasion had some technical issues, and it caused some of us with working connections to take on the workload of those who were facing issues. We were worried that we might have to step into the office, but we got through the day alright. It felt good because we were working as one team even as we were all remote.

HGS: What is something new that you have learnt whilst working from home recently?

Milos: I had always considered myself a capable remote worker but even for me, loneliness is one of the most common problems. That said, there are so many ways to combat this and it just takes a little bit of effort. My team and I have ongoing conversations on our chat group, and we keep it alive throughout the day. Aside from the general banter, we also help each other with problems we’re facing. It’s helping us improve our performance and hold onto our sanity in these times.

At HGS, teamwork and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do and are consistently embodied by our people. Join us to work in a support environment.
